Shadow Branice McClaine, 25, from Yuba City, CA was tragically taken from us on Sept. 3, 2016 in Clarksville, Tennessee while serving in the United States Army. She was born on January 2, 1991 in Roseville, CA and graduated from Yuba City High School in 2009. She joined the US Army in September 2011, where she was trained as an air traffic controller. She served her country in Korea, Afghanistan and was stationed at Fort Campbell Kentucky as part of the 101st Airborne at the time of her death. She was scheduled to be discharged from the army in October 2016. She was excited about returning to Yuba City and planned to attend college and explore career opportunities in photography. Shadow loved the outdoors, fishing with her father, hiking, roller bladeing and loved to read. She knew what she wanted and went after it. She was strong, smart, and creative. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Services for Shadow will be held on Saturday, Feb 11th at noon at Crossroads Community Church at 445 B St. Yuba City, CA. Shadow is survived by her mother, London Wegrzyn (Jeremy), father, Jesse Willis, (Debbie VanBogart), two brothers, Ethan Wegrzyn , 10, Aidan Wegrzyn, 8 a sister Liz Leathers, 27 and two nephews Hunter 3 and Ezra 2 and baby niece Harper on the way. She is also survived by her maternal grandparents, Carrie McClaine, Glen McClaine (Connie) and paternal grandparents, Janet and Bill Willis, step-grandparents Brenda and Thomas Wegrzyn, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and friends. A memorial fund for Shadow has been established at the National Headquarters for Disabled American Veterans (DAV) through PO Box 14301 Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301. Donations to the DAV may be made in Lieu of flowers.
