James Steele II

September 3, 1952 - April 23, 2021

On Friday, April 23rd, 2021, James Arthur Steele II, loving husband, father of four children, and grandfather to 10 grandchildren, passed into eternity peacefully in his sleep at the age of 68. Jim, was born on September 3rd, 1952, in Berkeley, CA, to James A. Steele Sr. and Antoinette Cabibi. He was a master mechanic for 50 years and owned Steele Mobile Repair in Rio Oso. On August 11th, 1977, he married Stephanie Celentano Steele and they raised four sons, Jason Steele, Chief Warrant Officer, USCG, James Steele III, his wife, Karli and their children, Zacariah, Benjamin, Daniel, Samuel, and Gideon. John Steele, his wife, Tiffany and their children, Isabella, Eliana and Alexis, and Joseph Steele, his wife Regina and their children, David and Lucas. Jim and his family have served the homeless and poor since the early '80s, first in Sacramento, and then in the Yuba Sutter region from 2001 - 2011 thru New Life Assembly, and since 2018, thru the Church of Glad Tidings. Jim also served as a deacon at Christian Outreach Fellowship and staff pastor at Church of Glad Tidings. Besides his love for God and his family, he enjoyed music, motorcycle riding, boating, car shows, funny car races, gun shows and gun and model rocket shooting. His sense of humor was appreciated by all. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his brother, Jon Aaron Steele; son, Joshua (Sundance) Steele; grandchildren, Aleczander and Ethan; sister, Toni Ross Caplow and her daughter, and her husband, Lisa and Rob Matthiesen; brother, Daryl Wayne Smith; cousins, the Jurek family and Martinec and Shockley families. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, John and Frances Cabibi, immigrants from Italy. A celebration of his life, will be held, Friday, April 30th, 2021, at 4:PM at the Church of Glad Tidings. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to donate to help cover remaining medical and funeral expenses would be appreciated. They can be sent c/o Stephanie Steele, to PO Box 1644, Yuba City, CA 95992.
