Bart Frey, 69 of Yuba City, formerly of Williams, passed away September 18, 2015 at Rideout Hospital in Marysville, CA. He was born November 15, 1945 in Inglewood, CA. Bart joined the Navy right after high school and was a Viet Nam Vet, stationed on the USS Jamestown (sister ship to the Pueblo). He married his soul mate and love of his life, Rosemarie, on February 20, 1965, celebrating 50 years of marriage this year. Bart and Rosemarie settled in Williams, CA, and raised their 2 daughters, Tammy and Suzy there. Bart retired from Westside Water District in 2003, then in 2004, he and Rosemarie moved to Yuba City to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. Bart loved his daughters and 5 grandchildren and loved when the whole family would get together. He will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his father, Cal Frey; mother Ethel Powell; stepfather Leland Powell; sister Pennie Lay and brother John Powell. He is survived by his wife Rosemarie; daughters Tammy (Steve) Sumner of Eugene, Oregon and Suzy (Jamie) Crouch of Yuba City, CA; granddaughter Kayla (Chisum) Pike of Dubuque, Iowa; grandsons Blake (Jessica) Stapley of Eugene, Oregon, Dane Stapley of Eugene, Oregon, and Jake and Brady Center of Yuba City; great-granddaughter Zoey Pike and great-grandson Charlie Pike of Dubuque, Iowa. There will be a celebration of life, Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Williams Community Center, 860 C St., Williams, CA from 11am to 1pm.
